Tour

Please note that with the release of RT 3.01 these pages are virtually outdated. Please check the Demo for accurate pages. For views not seen in the demo, I provide the links below.

I'm pleased to announce a preview of what RT 3 will be like at release. These pages are not just a screenshot or two. These pages are a living model of what RaidTracker 3. This is almost a demo of certain pages, and to interact a bit with the pages.

While you're on the tour, there is an extra navigation bar at the bottom, allowing you to go through the demo pages. Some of the pages also allow you to click on the links or tabs, which function as the same feature. In most cases, you'll be seeing these pages as if you are an administrator yourself.

But are these pages real?

These pages are based on an early prototype user interface design for RT 3. While the spirit of the design was kept, some changes were done either for coding, easier usability, or both. Do check the Demo for the "final" design.

Some features in the demo were not completed (and were removed from versions 3.0x), so the tour pages listed below show proof of concept of what to expect in a future version:
* DKP: pages for events, accountand Admin view.
* Subscription: concept of batch selection of role/status/class
* Link to the logged out screenshot

But why...

...should I use RaidTracker? It just works! It's easy to use, and very customizable for your group's needs. Signing up usually takes 1 or 2 clicks. Planning is easy to organize. And RT can be customized for users and the guild or group alike.

...should I use RaidTracker over the calendar in World of Warcraft? RaidTracker has been around even before the calendar was inserted into WoW, and has been tested and approved by my old guild, Reflection of Perfection. The in-game calendar system requires two things: the server to be online, and you to actually enter the game to access the calendar, which may be impossible in many cases. RaidTracker just needs to be accessed by the internet, so if you're running late at work, you could change your status in minimal fashion. Also, at the time Wrath of the Lich King was released, RT remains more powerful than the in-game calendar: easy to plan and track attendance, which is the main reason it was developed.

...should I use RaidTracker over another scheduling app? RaidTracker is designed on the KISS principle. For the ordinary person, RT is very easy to use, and people spend minimum time on the site (often just 1 or 2 clicks). For planners, the planning of an event is easy, and tracking is useful. For the administrator, RaidTracker will run with World of Warcraft settings out of box, and can easily be customized for other MMO and even non-MMO purposes. Maintenance is easy.

is RaidTracker being redesigned? 2 reasons: To broaden the focus outside of just World of Warcraft. Yes, you can still use it for WoW, even if the game has changed long since Wrath of the Lich King. But it can now be used for any other MMO, or even outside of gaming. And the other is to clean up the display and fix some features incomplete from RT 2. RT 2 got a bit bloated, and to fix the problems would take too long. Besides, it can also be localized :) So that's 3 reasons.
