Common RaidTracker features for all

All versions of RaidTracker (a.k.a. 'RT') are built using the KISS principle. That is, to keep it simple regardless of whether you are just a user, a planner, or administrator. While features may vary across versions, you are bound to see these features in every version of RT:

• Easy to start and use. Account creation is easy. RT's interface is one of the simplest. Once an account is created, most options are completed in 1-3 clicks.
• Easy to subscribe. Often, subscribing can be done in 1 or 2 clicks. And if you change your mind, 2 clicks can easily change that, and put people at ease.
• Support for multiple characters for account. For example, many MMOs allow you to have multiple characters on an account. RT's account view allows users to manage characters.
• Calendar or List view: RT allows groups and users to choose how to see events. The calendar view makes sense for visually viewing events. List is used in other event schedulers and brings up counts and other info not easily seen in a calendar.
• Cross-browser compatibility: RT is designed to take advantage of newer web standards like HTML5, XHTML 1.0, CSS 2.1 & CSS 3. Newer browsers will display the features properly, while older browsers (even IE6, which is ancient) will degrade properly. RT uses PHP on the server side, and does not use Java, Flash, Silverlight, Javascript or other plugins. In other words, it should work in any browser.
• Clean and simple user interface: RT strives to make the interface simple, even for the default theme. Even easier for admins to make their own theme using CSS. In fact, RT feels like an application instead of a bunch of web pages tied together.

Common advanced RaidTracker features

While RaidTracker is meant to be easy to use for everyone, it is a very powerful tool that simplifies the work for administrators and leaders. RT's potential is very broad. Note that these are some of the wide features of RT, but access may be limited depending on the permissions assigned by the administrator:

• Ease of install: Unzip, upload, and point your browser to the location you installed RT. The install process is easy, and walks you through setting up RT.
• Easy to set control: Accounts may be grouped into ranks, and privileges to perform certain actions are easily controlled. Everything may be changed including, but not limited to, adding characters, subscribing, leading, or planning events.
• Easy to create, modify and delete events.
• Easy to plan for events, including Whiteboard. Whiteboard allows you to make a draft of participants before making it official.
• Easy to switch status, characters, or roles.
• Great communication possible. Visual notes apply between users and planners, while planning notes are used among other planners.
• Tracking statistics. RaidTracker allows you to track attendance for each user, and over different time periods.
• Pass along urgent news. Using the breaking news or newstickers, you can alert the entire group something that they can't miss.
• Easy to customize the application. From themes, to options in administration view, you can make RT look the way you want. You can also control what can or cannot be done for subgroups of users.
• Changing accounts' characters (including what is the main character) is possible.
• View transactions to control for any malicious activity. Some versions allow you to view transactions by event separate from system-wide.
