Game setting files

Game packs come with preinstalled location settings

This is coming soon. Note that 3.00 comes preinstalled with WoW, as well as basic.

Themes

Themes decorate the app, and must be installed in their own subdirectory under /themes

* The RofP style is a style that is available for the public. But only the WoW guild Reflection of Perfection can use the mop34.jpg background. Everyone else can replace the image with another of width 955px to make it work right.

You can create your own theme as well... Do check out the styles page for more info.

Localization

Localization allows you to customize settings specific to your language, or even to different systems in English.

coming soon.

See also the manual for how you can do your own localization

Upgrade instructions from 3.0x

If your version starts with 3 (like 3.00, 3.01, 3.01.1 or 3.02), this is a recommended upgrade due to bug fixes and security issues. This is an incremental upgrade. Just unzip and upload to the location you installed RT. Do not upload the install folder. Be careful with the /user/local.php file as contents have changed from 3.01 (If you wish, back this file up before uploading).

Instructions for installation or upgrade.

The basic instructions go like this:

  1. Download all the files you need above. (RT zip, and optional settings, themes, and localization)
  2. If you are upgrading, see below, otherwise continue:
  3. Extract the RaidTracker zip file and upload to your server at the location of your choice.
  4. If you downloaded any themes, extract and upload them to the /theme folder you installed it.
  5. If you downloaded the local files, extract and place local.php in the /user directory
  6. New: If you downloaded or created your own setting file, you can upload the icons to /images. Keep the txt file on your drive. Install will ask later.
  7. Open your web browser to the location where you uploaded RT.
  8. Install will guide you through the process of setting up RT.
  9. You should be up and running. Enjoy RaidTracker.

Notes about upgrading with install

RaidTracker cannot be used to upgrade from any version earlier than 2.10. You might as well do a clean installation. That said, there are two significant changes between RT2 and RT 3. The files used are in different locations for the most part. To minimize the potential damage when upgrading (as well as clean up locations), this is the missing step above:

Please back up both the /images and the /user directories and put them aside. Then delete all files from where RT was. After you upload RT 3, you can put back the /images and /user files. Your data is safe as long as RaidTracker sees the /user/db.php and /user/rt.php files, and will perform an upgrade instead.

Once you have upgraded your database tables, they will not work in RT2. When in doubt, keep the backups. Likewise, all RT2 tables are not compatible with RT 3. That means you cannot link unless RT2 tables are upgraded.

Note, your old styles with RT2 are incompatible with RT 3. Also, all of your users must use the "Forget" menu option to log in.

Notes about linking and install

Linking allows you to share accounts among different copies of RaidTracker. The process is similar for a new install, though you'll select "Link" instead. You'll want to install it in a separate directory from your other RT installations, and give it different cookies to ease login issues. You'll also need to be an admin of the install you are linking from. But by linking, you can have different versions of RT for different needs.
